What are PBMs?

PBM, Pharmacy Benefit Managers, serve as the middlemen in the pharmaceutical marketplace. They buy medicines from drug companies at a discounted price and sell them to individual pharmacies at a profit.

That PBMs significantly raise the prices of the medicines harms those who cannot afford expensive medicines; patients should not pay more than necessary for life saving medicines. Also, the growing rebates the drug manufacturers pay the PBMs have forced the drug manufacturers to raise the prices of the drugs, resulting in more expensive drugs that some cannot afford.
